Dr. Wells

Dr. Derek Wells received his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama, then attended medical school at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham. He graduated with his M.D. degree in 2016. He completed a three-year Internal Medicine residency at the University of South Carolina’s Palmetto Health System, followed by a three-year Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at Baylor Scott & White in Temple, Texas. Dr. Wells is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Wells Joined the practice in the Summer of 2022.

Dr. Wells is involved in a number of professional societies, including the American College of Physicians, the American College of Chest Physicians, the American Thoracic Society, and the Golden Key International Honour Society.

In his free time Dr. Wells enjoys golfing, hiking, model rocketry, and even has his private pilot’s license.
